Gosh darn it!

Dear Friends,

Scrolling down my page, you would have noticed that my links are all gone.
Why? i would have to blame blogger.com.
The result now is that i have lost all of your site addresses, and because i am so lousy at computer stuff, i have no idea how to remedy the situation...
I hereby request for help... pleaase?

I think i could do with a new tag board too... any suggestions? or should i go back to using the previous one?

Please post your suggestions on the comments sections, drop me an e-mail to my g-mail account, sms me, or better yet... be beside me when i use the computer so u can physically walk me though the entire process... much thanks...

It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.
Epictetus:
We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free.
Eric Hoffer:
In times of change, learners inherit the Earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.

Happy 3rd day of Lunar New Year everyone!
Hope you guys have been having a good time :)

In review of the past few days… I would say that much has happened and that this year’s Lunar New Year is pretty unique… due in part to the first day falling on a Sunday, we all get to have 2 extra days of public holiday instead of the usual 1 extra… heh… not bad, not bad at all~

CNY – Day 1 – went to church with parents, den slacked my day away. Brother and sis-in-law came over to visit.

CNY – Day 2 – Visit to Wai Puo’s house, Sa Lau Sim’s house and Si Gu’s house. In that order… First time in my life, I wore a chong sum! Wah… feel shiok man… haha… maybe I will wear again next lunar new year… hehe…

CNY – Day 3 – Visitation of Mr. Chow’s house with SIM TKD Club mates.
Sadly, I was late… sorry ah guys~
Walked from Seng Kang Interchange to Mr. Chow’s house… and with the beating my feet took from wearing the high heels over past two days, I am surprised that I managed to walk that fast… then again, there is a possibility that my feet were already numb. [more on that later]
Gen was already there before us… heh so we all bai nian and sat down to watch Sa Po Lang.
Sir’s dvd player collection keeps growing… hahah… his sound system is very shiok, can hear all the way from the lift landing… haha… I would say that the movie was pretty violent and I was wondering why we were watching such a film during chinese new year… haha… and yes, I spent most of my time squirming in my seat… I am a pacifist remember? ‘Make love not war is my motto’, so yes, when people are slated to die a horrible and gruesome death, I am curl up and hide behind a pillow…
We sat around and ate lots of tid-bits, so much so, I think I am falling sick now… too much ‘heaty’ food lah… have to counteract the ‘heaty-ness’ by drinking liang cha…
-goes to the kitchen to make a cup-
We made our way back to Compass point on foot, yes my poor feet… but we all made it… Daphne, Sean, Hakim, Sian Li, Alan, Kelvin and myself… Desmond, Chi Foong and Jill did not join us in the trudge back… they had other places to be at different times…
Took the NEL to Serangoon and walked home from there… yes, yes, my feet were literally yelling at me when I got home…

As of now, my feet are road maps of ‘violence toward feet’.
If there was a society of prevention of harm towards feet, I think I would be their current top offender.
My right foot collided with Alan’s foot during sparring last Wednesday, resulting in a HUGE blue black on my foot, I still can’t walk properly because of that injury, but thankfully its healing…
My left foot has cuts from getting stabbed by a branch I tripped over last Friday.
I got blisters on both my little toes from my first day of wearing my new shoes. The pain of wearing those shoes on Sunday was so bad that I took off the shoes and walked barefoot home from church.
To make matters worse, I wore the same pair of shoes on Monday and today when I went out for visiting…
Therefore: in the case of placing feet through much pain, Sharon is found guilty as charge. o.olll
-psychotic laughter-
I have a feeling I will have more charges against me after tomorrow’s double training… haha…
-hysterical and maniacal laughter-

Heh… I do wonder: how did I manage to run on the treadmill at the gym on Friday morning, when I could hardly walk the day before that… haha…oh my feet, how you have suffered… haha… God works miracles! :D

The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Cheers people! 12 days of CNY to go~!
Woohooo~

Birth-Month 2006 and more

Dean William R. Inge:
The aim of education is the knowledge not of fact, but of values.
Douglas Adams:
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
Edith Hamilton:
It has always seemed strange to me that in our endless discussions about education so little stress is laid on the pleasure of becoming an educated person, the enormous interest it adds to life. To be able to be caught up into the world of thought -- that is to be educated.

Happy Lunar New Year to everyone!
Hope you guys fully enjoy the 3 days of holiday~
^.^

Its been a total blur, going back to school and getting my routine done day, day out… but there are things which happen and do stick in my mind… for instance, I got myself beat up on Wednesday during training, all for the sake of getting ready for I.V.P.
I do want to do well; therefore, I have to spar with guys, no matter how adverse the pacifist in me is to doing such a thing.
What I have learnt:
I am not aggressive
I am easily distracted
I am not alert
I am not fast
I injury rather easily

I pray that by the end of the preparation period, all that will change for the better.
I pray, real hard.
Thank you to Alan and Sean for helping me during that session, I look forward to getting more experience on this coming Wednesday.

For now, just enjoy the holidays for what they are… so many more people to meet up with… so exciting! :D

Enjoy everyone enjoy!
May thy ang pows be much in quality and quantity!
As for me:
Ang Pows! Come to your Mama!

-hysterical laughter-
Cheers!

My Thanks

If we value independence, if we are disturbed by the growing conformity of knowledge, of values, of attitudes, which our present system induces, then we may wish to set up conditions of learning which make for uniqueness, for self-direction, and for self-initiated learning.

Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education; they grow there, firm as weeds among rocks.
Clarence Darrow:
With all their faults, trade unions have done more for humanity than any other organization of men that ever existed. They have done more for decency, for honesty, for education, for the betterment of the race, for the developing of character in men, than any other association of men.

By order of Nef

Bertrand Russell:
I found one day in school a boy of medium size ill-treating a smaller boy. I expostulated, but he replied: 'The bigs hit me, so I hit the babies; that's fair.' In these words he epitomized the history of the human race.
Education and the Social Order
Bill Beattie:
The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.

I quote: “Blog about it tonight!”
Heeding the words of my Parv-ma-ma… so here goes…

Watched ‘In here shoes’ with Aziz and Parveen at Plaza Singapura.
I initially was against watching that show, but I am glad that it was 2 against 1.
Enjoyed it. :)
Warm and teary at the end of it all.

Ate dinner at BK.
Been ages since I’ve eaten there… no thanks to the closing of BK at Kovan. Ah my mushroom-swiss double… *yum-yum* ... Heavenly I tell you…
Went straight to Boon Keng right after dinner, met Chi Foong just in time to make it to Whampoh CC for class…
Ran into Kelvin twice in one day… haha…

Almost a day left

Barbara Tuchman:
Learning from experience is a faculty almost never practiced.
Beatrix Potter:
Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality.
Ben Sweetland:
We cannot hold a torch to light another's path without brightening our own.
Benjamin Jowett:
We cannot seek or attain health, wealth, learning, justice or kindness in general. Action is always specific, concrete, individualized, unique.

I seriously did not want to go to school today.
Was not feeling well lah~
But I went for Micro lecture anyway… can not any how ditch Charis… half way through the lecture, I wanted to leave… the lousy-sick feeling was really almost unbearable. ‘Almost’.
Prayed real hard.
Stayed for the entire session.
Good thing today got no training… if not I would have been really miserable…
The joy of the Lord is my strength!

The passage of time has never been so shocking… with in 48 hours I say goodbye to being twenty and enter the realm of being and adult.
It dawned on me today, while reading the newspapers, that being 21 means that I get to watch R21 films… haha… but now got nothing that interests me leh… how?
-rolls on the floor laughing-
Want to watch Memoirs of a Geisha!

Joshykor: “sharon>do cheerie up yeah??everything will be ok one and dun bounce off the walls..wait kena stuck how?”
Haha… yes, everything will turn out fine :)
It was my ‘inner-child’ who was doing the ranting yesterday… I have subdued her for now… haha…

Soon, I shall compile my pictures for printing :)
Yippeee~! Can’t wait to get them out… but money flying away from me ain’t all that appealing… *sniff*

I survived today… who knows about tomorrow?

Cheers!

6th Grading

Annie Sullivan:
Children require guidance and sympathy far more than instruction.
Ariel and Will Durant:
Education is the transmission of civilization.
Aristotle:
All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth.
Arthur Koestler:
Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.

Saturday – Didn’t go to work coz had to be in school for O.T. lecture in the afternoon. If I had gone to work in the morning I would have ended up being late for class… and that is not something I would want now, would it? ;p
Fruitful lecture? No bad lah… just very happy that it ended half an hour before I initially thought. :p
Have to prepare for the mocks… one month away… time is falling through my fingers and collecting in the never-ending depths of history… tears to shreds…o.olll

Sunday – day of my 6th Grading!
As usual, I could not sleep the night before. I can never get a good night’s rest before any grading… must be the adrenaline rush and anticipation of things to come with the rising of the sun… ha…
I left the house in such a rush that I forgot to take my morning dosage of vitamins… what I do? Turn around and walk back to get them lor~
Had breakfast at MacD with Chi Foong, Chong Yun, Hui Fen, Eileen, Alfred and his friend Lucian (who is slated to join the PLKCCUAS ^.^)
We were a tad late to the CC to prepare for the grading but everything turned out ok :)
We ran through all the usual stuff and I was rather satisfied with my Kovan kids. Though it remains to be seen as to whether they will pass the grading or not… oppz…
Hope they all passed lah…

Ran around all over the CC looking for kids and talking to parents. Handling issues here and there. Scolding my Whampoh brats from time to time.
My SIM club members did well for themselves!
Proud of you guys! :)
You rocked the grounds today people~
-jumps all over the place with pompoms-
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Finally finished the entire grading and club meeting around 2pm.
No comments about the grading this time… too much went on… just saw some things that have never happened before take place 4 times… really shocking and freaky…

Went for lunch with my society members :)
To the Hong Kong restaurant we all went!
Semi-round table 1 – Eric, Sean, Alan, Arthur, Wei Wen and Kelvin
Squared table 1 – Alfred, Chi Foong, Elmo and Jian Qing
Squared table 2 – Desmond, Hakim, Jill and Natalie
Semi-round table 2 ala My table – Chong Yun, Eileen, Genevieve, Cat and Me
The service was saddening… had to wait so bloody long for our food… the rest of them ate finish their food before we got our dishes… shesh… was very close to not wanting to pay the service tax lor… -.-lll
Hope everyone enjoyed their lunches … I sure did ^.^
Thanks for the fun guys!
Can’t wait for training on Wednesday!!!! :D

Got no training tomorrow… taking a break before heading back to full blast on Wednesday… it’s a good rest for Mr. Chow as well lah… he very stressed out today…

After lunch, Alfred and I walked to Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre to look at computer games… spent more than an hour there talking to the uncle and browsing games… ended up being late to Kovan to meet mummy and getting ear-fulls from her and Tkm…
-hits head against the wall violently-
Thus leading me to the low of my day:
I had planned to have dinner with my family today.
Was really looking forward to having the whole family together at one table.
But TKM, YKM and Kor are down with coughs, flu and fever.
How to go out?
TKM called me while I was out to rationalize with me why we should have a postponement of the dinner… gosh darn it… I was f***ing heartbroken!
Looking forward to something for the past month does not lessen the pain…argh~!
“Of all the things you could possibly give to me, your time would be the most treasured.”
That line was going through my head the entire journey home from Kovan.
Did a lot of sniffling from USSC to Kovan and back to house…
That was the only low… thank God for the rest of the day… Good over rides bad… :)

Took lots of pictures today!
So much difference from the previous grading!
Hahaha… the joys of a new phone XD

Joshykor: “sharon>haha Yeahhhhh i made it lol i survived lol”
There?! See?! I’m smart right??
-hysterical laughter-
X)

Guess that’s about it for now… Birth-Week awaits!
-bounces off the walls-

Forgetting myself

Albert Einstein:
It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.
Alvin Toffler:
The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.
Anatole France:
The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards
Anne Frank:
Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.

Wednesday – same routine as per norm…haha… go to school… train… hitch a ride to kovan… train some more… haha… shiok~
Only thing was that the floor was freaking wet and we had to move indoors halfway due to the rain which came down on us… oh well… spent some time working out the basic poomsae for the demo… more practice will come at a later date… finish grading then come and talk about the demonstration ba…

Thursday – Class… wet wet wet… get to school like a wet puppy… good thing I was carrying a big umbrella instead of my folded one… if not I would be wetter than a wet puppy… rushed home after class and made it to work in one piece… Thank God!

Friday – Went to Kovan on my own to return a rented book and bought lunch for YKM and myself on the way home. Did some O.T. reading before getting ready to go out.
Met Parveen at her MRT station and from there to Plaza Sing we went.
Had dinner with: Parveen, Adelyn, Esther, Sheena, Sheena’s boyfriend, Adeline, Yilinn, Jie Yang, Jerome and Joyce.
I initially counted 9 people in total, but I kept forgetting to count myself and while doing recounting I kept forgetting other random people… ba… had to ask the people for an extra table to accommodate the two people I kept forgetting to count in…by the way, we ate at Swensens. Sorry Sheena, I had no idea you ate there this week… gomen…
We all talked, talked, crapped, joked, talked some more and ate… the food was late, some people were later and some jokes were pretty darn lame… hahaha… and no, I am not going to repeat any of the jokes here… ;p
Took quite a few pictures, courtesy of Adelyn. :)
Had me some pleasant surprises and a wonderful time.
Thanks for making my day guys! *muak³*

Birth-Month rages on… much planned for Birth-Week!
Woohoo~

I so miss spending time with my JC buddies!
Gosh~ do we not all feel old for missing out on the time with one another?
We’re all headed in different directions with personal endeavors and dreams to fulfill one way or another.
We enrich one another by speaking our minds and listening to each others thoughts, a luxury as important as time.
I do confess that at one point it kind of degenerated to a gossip session of who is doing what where with whom for how long kind of thing… pray for forgiveness I shall, but it is part of getting together with friends yes?
How much we have changed, and how much we have not… one might even ask: who keeps track of all these things anyway? Haha…
I wish we could have had more time together guys… good thing Chinese New Year is coming soon…
-hysterical laughter-
I shall make it a point to have another gathering ok?
Life is far, far too short for sitting back and waiting… must make your own opportunities!
(I can hear Jerome and Joyce laughing like crazy now… oh well… might as well join them)
-loud psychotic laughter-
Next stop: The Ice Cream Gallery ^.^

Joshykor: "sharon>haha kor now in camp siaa....save meeee~~~"
You will make it one! I know you will! :)

Hey Yang Mui ah~
I face the same soul mate question mark!
Buahhahaha~

Happy Birthday Kelly!

All the best to everyone taking their grading tomorrow morning!
We can do it!
Yeah! :D

Birth-Month continues… Ph-oR days to coming of age … *yikes!*

Pain in the leg

Abraham Lincoln:
Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.
African proverb:
It takes a village to raise a child.
Albert Einstein:
It is, in fact, nothing short of a miracle that the modern methods of instruction have not entirely strangled the holy curiosity of inquiry.

Extra points of Tuesday:
My lower back has been aching the whole day.
God knows why, but I think it has to do with the weather.
My knees and other assorted joints have also been aching through out the day, though no as much as my lower back…
The weather today was so freaking cold that I ended up wearing 3 layers of clothes around the house… and I was still cold after wearing all that…*brrrr…*
I’m wondering how low the temperature will go tonight.
Thank God for my blanket. :)

Went for cell and forgot to bring my song file home… oppz…

The church’s theme for this year is “Launching out”
We’re supposed to ‘launch out’ of our comfort zones and reach out to others in the process.
I’ve got other things in mind though. XP

During training yesterday, my shin collided with Gordon’s kneecap.
The bruise is being a pain… in the leg… argh~
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s training! ^.^

Nef: “ooooh... i cant wait for this friday!!”
Oh yeah babeh yeah~
Neither can I! :D

Joshykor: “sharon>haha kor enjoyed spending time with you also haha then kor shld have had haemorrhage liaoz cos i was next to the speakers lol”
Hahaha… yeah good point there…

Bed is calling me now… toodles~

Juice-eh~

Oscar Wilde:
The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.

Henry David Thoreau:
Love must be as much a light as it is a flame.

Only 8 days left… ba… start saying goodbye to the limbo state… *sniff* … it was good while it lasted no?

I love rain!
It rained the whole day today… heh… was very tempted to stay under the blanket for the whole morning, but still got things to do… like that O.T. assignment and have to plan out plus do the slides for the lesson which I am teaching on the 22nd of this month for B.C.M.
But other than that… din have other pressing stuff to complete… just the usual routines X)

Went from work to home to TPY, for black belt grading, to Chua Chu Kang all within a day.
Wan Qiu celebrated her birthday on Saturday evening at a condo in CCK… pretty far, but fun all the same… Thanks for inviting me Wan Qiu! :D

Sunday was a hectic headless *cluck-cluck* day…
Got up damn early to go and wait for the church bus (in the rain)
Stayed for second service after BCM and then stay back some more for a prayer meeting and mini song learning session.
Took a cab home (I think I earned it… and so did the cabby)
Training
Ran home to bathe and get ready to go for dinner
Out into the rain with Daddy and Mummy to make out way to Orchard for dinner with relatives. Needless to say, we were late… oh well… got me some nifty necklaces anyway… :p Dinner was good, enjoyed spending time with my J-kor… the sound system for the ktv sucked big time though… I have a feeling that if I stayed any longer, my ears would have started bleeding from the screeching… you can imagine the headache I had when I got home that evening…
Crawled into bed slightly before 2am.

Monday morning wake up and don feel like waking up… blame it on the weather… so nice… the blanket backend… but Micro lecture on the in the afternoon… so drag myself out of bed… away from my cozy bed and into the bath room where the water turned me blue.
Was pretty wasted during the micro lecturer… first time I nodded off lor… basket! My notes write until like *bleah* and what’s more, I tore two pages…
-hits head against the wall-
my friends even asked why the hack I was going to attend training for when I was already so long ‘gone’ from reality… I must have really looked tired…
I made it though training! :)
In fact, I’m quite pleased with myself… haha…
Ran into Parveen at Whampoh CC… or rather… she ran into me… haha~

This morning’s television programs on Ch5 were not bad… brought back some fond memories…
Police Academy!
Gosh… how long has it been since we saw an installment of one of those movies?
Funny and heart warming at times with crazy stereotypes… hope they show another one of those movies soon…
Stars on Ice 20th anniversary… wow… Scott Hamilton’s come a long way… he’s going to be the producer of this year’s show… double wow… loved watching the various segments of skaters… my favorite is still G&G… no one will ever replace them… *sigh*
Cartoons all the way till before that… haha…. Spider-Man, X-Men, Superman and Justice league… hahaha… waiting to draw some more … ah… my pencils are calling me… hahaa….

Was humming this one just down… heh… been a while since I heard it on the radio or else where… :p

Louis Armstrong – Dream a little dream of me

Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "i love you"
Birds singin’ in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you’ll miss me
While I’m alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me

Stars fading but I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I’m longin’ to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

(instrumental break)

Stars shining up above you
Night breezes seem to whisper "i love you"
Birds singin’ in the sycamore trees
Dream a little dream of me

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me

Yes, dream a little dream of me

Now guys… sing with me!
Aaw aw
Aaw aw
Ah ah ah ah aaw aw

Wistlist 2006

Mother Teresa:
Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.
La Rochefoucauld:
A true friend is the most precious of all possessions and the one we take the least thought about acquiring.

7 days into the New Year and I am trying to get with the program.
-looks to the sky and wails “Save me!!!!”-
Hahaha…
It still feels like 2005. *sigh* what to do? All the fault of the school term and the absence of a long break… have to wait for the end of the UOL exams before I can get into the December holiday mode… but by then… I would be 6 months too late/early…
-hits head against wall-
Aiya~
Study, study, study… that more important than worrying about time warp… hahaha…

I keep telling myself that I have to do revision of the notes when I get home, but some how I never do it in the end….
-hits head against the walls-

Wednesday – went to the market with TKM … grocery shopping as usual… bought the ingredients for poh piah… *yum-yum-yum*

I can’t remember if I took a nap… haha… went for training at SIM and den to Kovan… Thank God that the rain was gone when we reached the CC… I would have been crushed if training got cancelled again…
Training at SIM was not bad… Eelin did better than I expected… I have to work harder… need to get over the mental block… JUST DO IT!!!! XD

Friday – went to RELC to pay for the UOL exam fees… bye bye money… must make it worth it!
Finished the payment process in record time :)
Walked the whole stretch of Orchard Road with TKM … walked in one shop after another looking for that ONE blouse to match my skirt… haha… was searching for that PERFECT necklace to go with another of my blouses… such is the life of being a female… hahaha…
Had buffet lunch at Phoenix Café. Mmmmgoood~
So long never go there to eat liao… the spread is still just as good just that I miss the crayfish~ Wonder if they will bring it back again … hmmmmm….
Knocked out for an hour when we finally got home… haha… did more shopping… heh…
The kids at Whampoh were more well behaved today … din have to shout that much… hahah…. Hopefully in the future don have to shout at them at all… I have hope… Hope is a good thing :)

Here I am… writing at 1am… when I should be sleeping… haha … have to finish the OT essay for submission next Saturday… might seem a long time away… but time has a habit of running away from me… have to finish the planning of the essay by tomorrow so I can write it all out and then edit it for printing… haha…
-feels a trobbing headache coming on-

Ok…don answer that question… hahaha…
The most special gift would be to spend time with my loved ones… so please let me know when you are free so I can make my 21 birthday all the more special… ok?
Sangku vairli much~ :)

Been hooked to this song ever since I heard it on the tele when they aired various commercials for the drama ‘Tiramisu’ on Ch5… it is stuck in my head… and I keep humming it or singing the same few lines over and over… have to increase the number of words man~
-hearty laughter-

Pussycat Dolls - Stickwitu

Oohooh ooh oohooh ooh...
C'mon!

I don't wanna go another day
So I'm telling you, exactly what is on my mind
Seems like everybody is breaking up
And throwing their love away
But I know I got a good thing right here
That's why I say (Hey)

Nobody gonna love me better, I must stick wit u forever
Nobody gonna take me higher, I must stick wit u
You know how to appreciate me, I must stick wit u, my baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way, I must stick wit u

I don't wanna go another day
So I'm telling you, exactly what is on my mind
See the way we ride, in our private lives
Ain't nobody gettin' in between
I want you to know that, you're the only one for me (one for me)
(What I'm sayin')

Nobody gonna love me better, I must stick wit u forever
Nobody gonna take me higher, I must stick wit u
You know how to appreciate me, I must stick wit u, my baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way, I must stick wit u

And now, ain't nothing else I can need
And now, I'm singing 'cause you're so, so into me
I got you, we'll be making love endlessly
I'm with you (baby I'm with you)
Baby you're with me (baby you're with me, higher)

So don't cha worry about
People hanging around
They ain't bringing us down
I know you, and you know me
And that's all that counts
So don't cha worry about
People hanging around
They ain't bringing us down
I know you, and you know me
And that's, that's why I say (Hey)

Nobody gonna love me better, I must stick wit u forever
Nobody gonna take me higher, I must stick wit u (come on)
You know how to appreciate me, I must stick wit u, my baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way, I must stick wit u

Nobody gonna love me better, I must stick wit u forever
Nobody gonna take me higher, I must stick wit u
You know how to appreciate me, I must stick wit u, my baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way, I must stick wit u

Birth-Month

Albert Camus:
After all manner of professors have done their best for us, the place we are to get knowledge is in books. The true university of these days is a collection of books.
Victoria Wagner:
A young child is, indeed, a true scientist, just one big question mark. What? Why? How? I never cease to marvel at the recurring miracle of growth, to be fascinated by the mystery and wonder of this brave enthusiasm.
Mark Twain:
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Happy New Year 2006 Everyone!
Hope you guys had a good time ringing in the new year :)

Mah chum the sermon today was aimed at me lor… so many things concerning my life in the last few months… from sports to headless chicken and what not… seriously have to take a step back and make more tough decisions...
-head bang-
God never said life was going to be easy…

Went to Gui Mei’s Poolside BBQ party at Hougang Green in the evening.
The rain came down like a faulty switch. Like the prop master in a play who can not make up his mind. Both in time differentials and degrees of heaviness…
At least the girls had a place to hang out – ala the unit belonging to GM’s Aunt. Hehe… GM’s Aunt happened to not be in Singapore… I think… so we were allowed to lace around the place to talk and eat.
The girls being: Grace, Karen, Chai Ling , Shu Ling and I.
Gui Mei made an appearance with food from time to time. And stayed with us to chat before heading down again to the pool/pit to spend time with her students. Heh~
I’m very thankful for the chance to get together with that bunch… its been ages since we talked… and talked we did… from School (long time) to hand phones to the bareness of the house we were in… on some levels, that was certainly a very creepy unit… haha…
Thank you Gui Mei! :)

After hearing the sermon at PLMC, and going to Gui Mei’s Party today, I have made some resolutions for the year.
Though it would remain to be seen as to whether I will be able to stay true to them and myself… bad memory is not an excuse this time.

Joshykor: “sharon>heheh Lover's Tears...kor also can sing Ah Capella...haha Ah beng style mah haha ..happy new year!!”
Happy New Year to you too Kor!
Wah… really ah?
So I get to hear you sing that song when we go and KTV?
-hysterical laughter-
On?

To Everyone:
After much thought, I have decided not to have a party to celebrate my 21st birthday. :(
However, January 2006 henceforth shall be known as ‘Birth-Month’.
I will do my best to meet up with as many of you guys as possible within this month. Ok?
Just let me know when you are free ya?
THANKS!
*muakz & hugz*

Quotes for New Year 2006

Ah...for the hack of it~ ^.^

Youth is when you're allowed to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Middle age is when you're forced to. ~Bill Vaughn

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. ~Bill Vaughan

The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul. ~G.K. Chesterton

Many people look forward to the new year for a new start on old habits. ~Author Unknown

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other. ~Author Unknown

No one ever regarded the First of January with indifference. It is that from which all date their time, and count upon what is left. It is the nativity of our common Adam. ~Charles Lamb

New Year's Day is every man's birthday. ~Charles Lamb

The merry year is born
Like the bright berry from the naked thorn.
~Hartley Coleridge

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. ~Hal Borland

Never tell your resolution beforehand, or it's twice as onerous a duty. ~John Selden

New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights. ~Hamilton Wright Mabie

The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months! ~Edward Payson Powell

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1850

Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past. ~Henry Ward Beecher

The new year begins in a snow-storm of white vows. ~George William Curtis

For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
~T.S. Eliot, "Little Gidding"

Yesterday, everybody smoked his last cigar, took his last drink and swore his last oath. Today, we are a pious and exemplary community. Thirty days from now, we shall have cast our reformation to the winds and gone to cutting our ancient shortcomings considerably shorter than ever. ~Mark Twain

And ye, who have met with Adversity's blast,
And been bow'd to the earth by its fury;
To whom the Twelve Months, that have recently pass'd
Were as harsh as a prejudiced jury -
Still, fill to the Future! and join in our chime,
The regrets of remembrance to cozen,
And having obtained a New Trial of Time,
Shout in hopes of a kindlier dozen.
~Thomas Hood

Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go. ~Brooks Atkinson

I do think New Year's resolutions can't technically be expected to begin on New Year's Day, don't you? Since, because it's an extension of New Year's Eve, smokers are already on a smoking roll and cannot be expected to stop abruptly on the stroke of midnight with so much nicotine in the system. Also dieting on New Year's Day isn't a good idea as you can't eat rationally but really need to be free to consume whatever is necessary, moment by moment, in order to ease your hangover. I think it would be much more sensible if resolutions began generally on January the second. ~Helen Fielding, Bridget Jones's Diary

We meet today
To thank Thee for the era done,
And Thee for the opening one.
~John Greenleaf Whittier

Time has no divisions to mark its passage, there is never a thunder-storm or blare of trumpets to announce the beginning of a new month or year. Even when a new century begins it is only we mortals who ring bells and fire off pistols. ~Thomas Mann

The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to. ~P.J. O'Rourke

Prayer for the New Year

Grant me the strength from day to day to bear what burdens come my way.
Grant me throughout this bright New Year more to endure and less to fear.
Help me live that I may be from spite and petty malice free.
Let me not bitterly complain when cherished hopes of mine prove vain, or
spoil with deeds of hate and rage some fair tomorrow's spotless page.
Lord, as the days shall come and go in courage let me stronger grow.

Lord, as the New Year dawns today help me to put my faults away.
Let me be big in little things; grant me the joy which friendship brings.
Keep me from selfishness and spite; let me be wise in what is right.

A happy New Year!
Grant that I may bring no tear to any eye.
When this New Year in time shall end let it be said
I've played the friend,
have lived and loved and labored here,
and made of it a happy year.

- Edgar A. Guest
